Line item rate to include 4-5 decimal places

Gap/challenge:

  • Rate may include 4-5 decimal points but we only show 2

    • May need to change for Amount as well, consider Quantity (just to confirm)

  • This can cause an error in the invoice total, while this can be corrected in Centime. The error will be present when posted to the GL as the GL will calculate the total based on the rate and there will be a discrepancy.

Note from Sophia: When clients have rates that include more than 2 decimal points, Centime rounds to 2 dec points.

This can cause a discrepancy from the true total. This example occurred with Advanced Machine who was paying for 200 units x $1.936 = $387.20. Due to the rounding, Centime took 200 units x 1.94 - $388.00.

This example is relatively minor and the vendor will issue a credit but wondering if other clients especially with PO items might encounter rates that have more than 2 decimals could turn into a hassle for the client's accounting.

In this case they could have overwritten the Payment Amount and underpaid, but there could be instances where the 2 dec points round down and the client may actually underpay the invoice, as current state QBD takes the line calculation only and overwrites the invoice total.

Adv. Machine informed me that they do not see rates with more than 3 decimal places.

Curious if anyone else has encountered this?

CPB-I-222 - perhaps this could be on the same spring as this one?
