Payment total when scheduling or approving payments

The need: what am I approving? How much have a just scheduled for payment? These are very simple questions that the user needs to anser with a calculator at the moment. This is an awful experience.

Client example: HiViz would like to see a payment value total when selecting invoices to be paid. We tried using the cash impact graph to see if we could get this information, however, the cash impact graph also takes invoices with a payment date into the calculation. I believe that this feature would benifit all AP clients.

    I dont think that showing the totals on the confirmation popup will solve the problem of viewing the payments scheduled on any given date so that I can maintain my bank account balance because the payments can be scheduled for a date in batches. I have understood the issue. I will think of a solution that could address this problem.

    I believe that there should be a running total as the client selects invoices and also on the confirmation screen. This running total should also be available when authorizing payments and at the confirmation screen. I do not believe that we need to concern ourselves with multiple dates or payment methods. If a client need this then they should be batching their payments by date, payment method, or both. Also, I think it would be really cool addition to the Cash Impact graph if we were able to show AP scheduled payments vs AP due date. This would allow an AP manager to pull up the totals by date in the event that they forgot the exact amount at the time of scheduling or didn't write it down. Does this make sense?

    Wyeth, does it work to just show the total of any confirmation screen?

    What if the payment is for multiple dates? Multiple payment methods? What level of detail is required / valuable?

    This is starting to become an issue with some of our larger clients. This has now been requested this week 8/14 by Tomorrow.io, MaryRuth, and ProMax.
